Copic markers, known for being one of the best types of markers known to man. What makes these alcohol-based, perfect brush-tipped, amazing color choices marker the best? Well, there are a lot of factors that go into making Copic markers the best. For example, how do they perform, how good is the quality, and how do they compare to the other brands.
What you will get from a pack of Copics are six amazingly colored markers. I suggest starting with the skin tone pack but whatever you want to buy will look just as amazing. The on the downside to Copics is the price. Although you can refill a Copic SIX times with only a 2-dollar ink packet. You still need to buy the marker first. If you are going for a six-pack of markers than that will be $45. that is seven and a half dollar PER marker.
Copics may be expensive but one Copic can last people who draw every day for YEARS. Some people who have drawn every day an average amount say that they have never had to refill a Copic. And not just that the ink will stay bright. I made about 20 drawings in my sketchbook all using the same couple of Copics and NONE of them faded. It was like a dream come true.
We have been talking about how Copics might be the best marker ever but let's put them up against another marker brand, Crayola. Crayola is known for its cheap, easy to use water-based markers. Although they might both be markers, they are very different. While Crayola might have the upsides of being "easy to use" they look bad when put next to a Copic.

Some people may be thinking right now, "well a pack of 256 Crayola markers cost me like 45 dollars and I only get 6 Copics for that amount. Of course, this cheap kid’s brand is going to be bad." And what I say to that is, you are correct. These two markers are two different types. The Crayola is water-based and the Copics are alcohol-based. So, let's see how a Copic looks next to another alcohol-based marker, Ohuhu.

As you can see Ohuhu is an alcohol-based marker like Copics. It has a bit more of a cartoony look to it. on the left, you can the Copic marker drawing has nicer blending in the coat giving a more highlighted feel. The Copics have a much wider selection then Ohuhu but that doesn’t mean better colors. This is where I can't decide between Copic of Ohuhu. It is more about what marker you like the look of more and what one you have the budget for.
