At the beginning of the year, I stumbled a lot on balancing school and gymnastics. It affected my grades and my health. I could barely get sleep every night because I had to stay up doing homework. Little did I know, the world and my environment would affect the end of the school year.
Since I was little, I always had the dream of winning a gold medal. I started doing gymnastics and kept on getting better and better. I finally got to level 4 and got some of my hardest skills. My dream finally came true. I won my first-place gold medal! I was so proud of myself and finally got to know what it felt like to be at the top of the podium. I will always remember that moment and hold onto it for a very long time.
As my gymnastics practices went from 9 hours a week to 12 hours a week, I started improving my well-being. I started working out more by running 8 miles a week, doing ab workouts, and improving my diet. I started eating healthier which meant limiting my snacks, drinking more water, and eating vegetables. I tried to influence those around me to also start exercising more. I got stronger, not just physically but mentally.
I got mentally stronger by trying to show positivity towards those around me. This meant cheering up my teammates, my family, my friends, and others around me. My family has helped me become a better person and they are always by my side if I need help. They have influenced me to help others in need and keep a positive attitude. It is important to keep a positive attitude because you can be kind, positive, and make a difference in your community.
I want to grow as a person that spreads positivity and helps others in need. Others can reflect off me and I can reflect off others. If others reflect off me or other people, then they can show kindness, care, and positivity towards those around them. As I reflect on this year, I hope to make a change even if it’s a small change.
